Biography
|
| My life in dogs commenced in 1968 when, as a young teenager, my first Golden Retriever came into my life. Breeding was
next and over the decades, 56 Goldens became Champions for our kennel winning Best in Shows at all breeds, speciality
level and many Best of Breeds at our Royal Shows. We also titled approximately 20 Goldens associated with our kennel and
imported from the UK and Scandinavia. I started judging in the early 1970s and gained my ALL-BREEDS licence in 2002. I am
fortunate to have judged throughout Australia and New Zealand, with appointments also in Sweden, Malaysia, India, South
Africa, China, Japan, Finland, UK, Scotland and the USA, I have also been honoured to be granted “A1” listing on the UK
Golden Retriever Club judges list. The first and only Australian to do so at this time. After holding the position of President
of the Australian National Golden Retriever Council over a period totalling 14 years, it was time to retire in 2015. I have
served on the Dogs NSW Conformation Judges Training Committee and gave the Golden Retriever breed lecture for many
years. I am also an accredited assessor for all breeds for the ANKC Judges Training Scheme. Ten years ago, Whippets came
into our lives. Our success has continued and after a brief adventure into breeding them, our small kennel can boast five
champions, from two litters. Also, in residence are two SUPREME champions, one being a homebred Specialty Best in Show
winner. Other breed associations over the decades - Golden Retrievers, Whippets, English Setters, Dobermans, Boston
Terriers, English Pointers, Labradors and Whippets. |
