 Judi and her husband, Darryl, live in the Porcupine Hill area of southwest Alberta, near Lundbreck, where they have been quietly raising, training and exhibiting quality German shepherd dogs under the Shadowbar prefix for many years. In fact, Judi has always had German shepherd dogs in her life. Her dogs have achieved multiple High in Trial awards in CKC Obedience and Herding; and the first German shepherd to earn a DDX title in Canada was from Shadowbar. An interest in Rally Obedience was sealed when, in the first ever Rally Obedience trial held in Alberta, judge Lawrence Klassen saw fit to award both of Judi's shepherds perfect scores of 100, tying them for 1st place in a class of 90 dogs. Judi developed a passion for Rally O which has continued to this day and has led her to become a CKC Rally Obedience judge and an avid competitor in the sport. Judi also heads the training program for the Alberta Karelian Bear Dog teams in Wildlife Management in the province and is a CKC Draft Dog judge, CKC Scent Detection judge and CGN evaluator. |
