Description
The OptiGen prcd-PRA test is a DNA-based test that helps you avoid one form of Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). PRA refers to a group of diseases that cause the retina of the eye to degenerate slowly over time. The result is declining vision and eventual blindness.
The Poodle Club of Alberta is hosting a blood draw clinic on October 23-24-25 in conjunction with the Battle River Canine Association show. For a list of breeds that have tests available, visit www.optigen.com/opt9_test_prcd_pra.html.
Blood drawn at the clinic will be completed by a registered veterinarian technician. Test will take about 5 minutes for blood draw and 10 minutes to complete computer entry. Test will be 20 % plus 10 % off if computer entry completed at time of test.
Cost to Poodle Club of Alberta $30.00 includes blood draw equipment, shipping and handling. Results are sent directly to owner by email and mail within 2-3 weeks.
