The "Sonny Tougas National Bursary Program" announced the 2014 bursary winners this evening at the Canadian Professional Handlers Association (CPHA) Top Dogs Awards dinner held at the Elgin County Kennel Club / Purina National show in London, Ontario.

Maurice 'Sonny' Tougas was an All Breed Judge and a CKC life member who stood for honesty, integrity and sportsmanship. Sonny was always willing to lend a hand, offer advice or freely share his knowledge. The bursary program, in honour of 'Sonny' Tougas, is designed to aid a deserving student in support of his / her educational objectives in the form of a post-secondary scholarship.

The 2014 bursary recipients were announced Friday evening by Shannon Scheer at the CPHA Top Dogs Awards dinner.

Applications for the 2015 "Sonny Fund" will be available from Larry Kereluke in the spring/summer of 2015. To all the generous people who support The Sonny Fund, a heartfelt thank you.
