My Bullmastiffs, Havanese, husband Paul and I live in Cobble Hill, British Columbia on beautiful Vancouver Island on the west coast of Canada. I worked in the data and network management area of the British Columbia government for 31 years and have recently retired.
I purchased my first Bullmastiff, with Paul in 1988 and we started our kennel in 1991 with the conception of the kennel name Banbury Bullmastiffs, and the plans for our first breeding. Along the way we have owned, trained and shown the first Canadian Bullmastiff to win Best in Breed at an ABA National Specialty in 1993. We bred and owned Quinn, Best Opposite at the ABA National, and winner of two Canadian Nationals. We have bred and owned an ABA National HIT winner handled by Paul. We have titled, shown or ran Bullmastiffs in most of the playing fields, including confirmation, obedience, agility, rally, triathlon, canine good neighbor, and therapy. This year we were honoured by the CKC to receive our Master Breeder designation with over 50 champions in our 31 years as members of the CKC.
I have given many years of support to the local clubs and the Bullmastiff Fanciers of Canada, having held position of President, BC Director, Corresponding Secretary, and Membership Chair. I have enjoyed chairing and hosting National Specialties, Regional Specialties, community events and fund raisers. We are members of the CKC, Tyee KC, Bullmastiff Fanciers of Canada, American Bullmastiff Association, and the Cowichan Dog Obedience Club.
Over the course of the past few years I have ventured into the judging arena, with experience now in Veteran and Juvenile all breed sweepstakes and junior handling. I was also honoured to be invited to the American Bullmastiff National as their Breeder judge for their Top 25 Event in 2017. I am currently investigating my permit judging application. |
