| My journey in WHWT started in 1979 when I started working in the Lasara Kennels in England, Barbara Graham was well known in WHWT circles and was also quite successful. Her partner in the kennel was Jane Kabel, and between the two of them (and many others along the way) they taught me grooming, handling and breeding.
I feel fortunate to have been around in the days of the big kennels, the many outstanding dogs of the day, and the people that I met. Ever since those days I have not been without a Westie or 2! When Jane gave up her partnership in the kennels, we decided to pool resources and dogs at that time in The Netherlands, many Westies followed, many successes followed. After a few years we decided to move to the UK with all our dogs, which at the time included two Samoyeds. In 2015 we lost Jane, and although I said at the time I would not get back to breeding, showing or photography again, here we are, 2024 and I judge at CC level, have got three youngsters that I enjoy showing and I even got a new camera, even after all these years I still love the WHWT, their sense of humour and the fact that even at 11 inches they think they are as large as a Rottweiler! |
