| After growing up with various dogs, my introduction
to the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel came in 1985 acquiring a pet Blenheim. What an affectionate and endearing breed they are, with those big round, expressive eyes that could never fail to win you over! My interest grew to exhibiting and breeding in the mid 90's after believing a crazy tricolour girl we acquired was good enough to show. She wasn't that special, though placing at all shows attended, and was disastrous in the whelping box! But, this interest lead to a serious hobby of exhibiting and breeding combined. Our breeding today goes back to the 2 original girls we started our line with 26 years ago, both Ch Telvara Karban Kopy daughters that culminated in my first UK Champion in 2004, Ch. Aranel Ballistic, who also won Best of Breed at Crofts the following year. Success continued and I have been fortunate to breed 9 UK Champions, many Champions worldwide and also some of our males proving worthy stud dogs for us and other breeders in the UK and abroad. In particular, Aranel Bombastic, Ch Aranel Cosmic, Ch Aranel Genesis. Overseas, AKC Grand Ch Aranel Renaissance, CKCS-USA Ch Aranel Revelation and CKCS-USA Ch Aranel Colby have produced numerous winning offspring. After a spell owning Japanese Chins, we had a UK Japanese Chin Champion and her litter brother, a Swedish Champion. I've served on dog clubs since 1999 and have served on The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club committee since 2014 currently in the role as Vice Chairman supporting the very capable Michael Levy. I first judged in 1998 and awarded Challenge Certificates for the first time in 2011. Since then, I've had the privilege of judging in many countries in Europe and North America including the U.S.A, AKC and CKCSC-USA. |
