Biography
Forsythe Labradors & Bella Fleur Cavaliers

I started showing dogs in 1975, after my father passed away. He and I shared a great passion and respect for all animals, but dogs were our favorite, and my passion continued. I started a grooming business in my mother's basement to pay for college. During my childhood I showed many other breeds; Min. Schnauzers, Wirehaired Fox terriers, Maltese, Yorkshire Terriers, GWPs, Min. Dachshunds, Boxers, Boston Terriers, and Labrador Retrievers.

I acquired my first Labrador Retriever in 1986. Shortly after I was gifted a gorgeous yellow Crofter granddaughter. "Kahlee" was an incredible dual-purpose girl. She was my first BPIS and an excellent dove, pheasant, and quail hunting companion. Her biddable temperament can be felt in all my yellows today, as she was my foundation. In 1999, I was incredibly fortunate to be able to import from the UK a wonderful chocolate girl, Mardas Maduro Wrapper, from longtime friend, Marlene Hepper of Mardas Labradors. Mardas Maduro Wrapper, along with Windfalls Shadowfax at Forsythe and another Mardas import, Mardas Ruffian, became the foundations for my chocolate lines. Over the years, I have been very blessed to have imported many incredible influential bloodlines into the USA; Balrion, Mardas, Mallorns, Farnfield, Zacks, Penny Royals, Farnfield, to name a few.... In the early 2000’s, I imported an incredible young chocolate male from Russia. We finished him and he became Norwegian, Swedish, Polish, AKC CH. Labry Berry Scherbet at PlayMor. These dogs have helped bridge many friendships across the world. I am very thankful to all the breeders that have entrusted me with their bloodlines. Over the years, I have enjoyed competing in field trials, NAVDA, and hunt tests.

Present day, I am member of the LRC and Mid Michigan LRC. the President and Show Chair of both the Grand Rapids Kennel Club & Great Lakes CKCSC Inc. I am an AKC Breeder of Merit, AKC Breeder with H.E.A.R.T., AKC judge & standing Grand Rapids Kennel Club AKC Delegate. Previously, I held the office as President of the Open Labrador clearance database, Labradata Inc., till its founder’s death in 2015.

I have bred multiple AKC Grand Champions including multiple Group and MBIS winners, as well as specialty WB, WD, & BISS winners. During the years, I have enjoyed competing in field trials, NAVDA, and hunt tests.

By practical education, I am a Registered Nurse with a specialty in ER/Trauma. My husband is a physician in practice in Northern Michigan. We reside with our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels & Labradors, just outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our son, Eric, is Pre-Vet in college. When I am not off judging AKC events, at Delegate meetings. I still enjoy hunting & fly fishing.
